Terms of Service
Last updated: 4 May 2026
Welcome to Hirsch Index. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) cover your use of hirschindex.com (the “Site”). The Site is operated by Hirsch Index (“we”, “us”), an international school of scientific publishing for physicians and researchers.
The Site is currently a marketing and educational resource. We do not sell products or process payments through it. If that changes, we will update these Terms before any paid feature goes live.
Acceptance
By visiting or using the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site. You must be at least 16 years old to use it.
What the Site is
The Site provides articles, guides, and information about scientific writing, peer-reviewed publishing, and the work of Hirsch Index. Everything you see here is informational and educational. No transaction, registration, or paid service is currently offered through the Site itself.
Intellectual property
All content on the Site — text, images, logos, illustrations, code, and the “Hirsch Index” name and brand — belongs to Hirsch Index or our licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law.
You are welcome to:
- Read, share links to, and quote short excerpts of our content with credit and a link back.
- Use small quotations for academic or journalistic purposes under fair use / fair dealing.
You may not, without our prior written permission:
- Republish our articles, guides, or course materials in full or in substantial part.
- Repackage our content into your own product, newsletter, or training programme.
- Use our name, logo, or branding to suggest endorsement.
Acceptable use
When using the Site, please don’t:
- Scrape, crawl, or mass-download content beyond what a normal reader would do.
- Attempt to break, overload, probe, or bypass our security or hosting infrastructure.
- Upload or transmit anything unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or that infringes someone else’s rights.
- Use automated tools to harvest contact details or content for AI training datasets without permission.
We may block IPs or visitors who break these rules, with or without notice.
Educational content, not medical advice
Some of our content discusses medicine, clinical research, and health-related publishing. This material is educational. It is not medical advice and is not a substitute for diagnosis, treatment, or guidance from a qualified healthcare professional. Do not rely on anything you read here to make clinical decisions for yourself or others.
Accuracy and warranties
We work hard to be accurate, but research moves fast and mistakes happen. The Site and its contents are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Your use of the Site is at your own risk.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Hirsch Index and the people behind it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, opportunity, or goodwill arising from your use of the Site — even if we have been advised that such damages are possible. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the maximum extent the law permits.
Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (for example, for fraud or for harm to life or health caused by negligence, where applicable).
External links
The Site links to journals, databases, social networks, and partner sites. We don’t control those destinations, we don’t endorse everything they say, and we’re not responsible for their content, privacy practices, or availability. Use them at your own discretion.
Changes
We may update these Terms as the project evolves. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the current version. If we make material changes, we will highlight them at the top of the page for at least 30 days. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
Termination
We may suspend or restrict access to the Site at any time, for example for maintenance, abuse, or legal reasons. The intellectual property, disclaimers, and liability sections survive termination.
Severability
If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in force.
